Competition for Best Documentary, Short Film, and Campus Film
Competition conducted in association with the 17th Panchajanyam International Film Festival.
The 17th edition of the festival will take place in January 2027 at Kairali-Sree Theatres, Chittur.
Prizes
The following cash prizes will be awarded in each category:
- Best Short Film: ₹10,000
- Best Documentary: ₹10,000
- Best Campus Film: ₹5,000
Rules and Regulations
- This competition is for films produced after 1 January 2026.
- The duration of short films and campus films should not exceed 30 minutes. This limit does not apply to documentaries.
- Films made in any language can take part in this competition. All films other than those in Malayalam or English must be subtitled in English.
- All participants must submit the completed application form.
- A high-definition copy of the film should be uploaded to a public cloud like Google Drive, and the link shared in the application form. Make sure that anyone with the link can view the file.
- There is a fee of ₹500 to participate in the competition. It can be paid through UPI, net banking or a demand draft; the payment details are given in the application form. Upload the proof of payment with the form.
- For films competing in the Campus Film section, a self-certification by the director should be attached, giving the details of their course and institution.
- The decision of the Jury will be final and cannot be contested. Films to be screened at the festival will be chosen by the Jury.
- The participation fee will not be returned under any circumstances. The Organising Committee of the festival will be the final authority on any complaint.
- Films that were part of an earlier Panchajanyam competition, or were screened at an earlier Panchajanyam International Film Festival, are not eligible.
- The screening schedule of the selected films will be published in the festival schedule and on our Instagram and Facebook pages.
